Reading Relays: Spring 2010
This is an opportunity for fifth grade students to read books and show off their knowledge by competing against other students in the district. This year Reading Relays will be held at Ashland Ridge Elementary on Saturday, March 27, 2010. Westwood will be sending three teams to this district competition. Good luck 5th Graders!

Author Visit with Brod Bagert, April 13, 2010
Well known children's poet, Brod Bagert, will spend a full day in April with the students at Westwood Elementary. Mr. Bagert will give presentations to all grade levels. There will be an opportunity to order autographed copies of Mr. Bagert's books prior to his visit.

National Library Week April 11-17, 2010
This is an annual celebration that focuses on how libraries impact the world by providing access to materials print and non-print for learning and enjoyment.

Used Book Sale - May 2010
The Westwood Media Center will be hosting a Used Book Sale in May. Students will be invited to bring in books from home that they no longer want. For every five books that a student donates they will receive one free book at the sale. Paperback books will be sold for 50 cents and hardcovers for $1.
